On the same night that Barack Obama is set to accept the Democratic nomination for President, citizens of Denver, the site of the Democratic National Convention, will be more interested in something much more important:
Sen. John McCain has not commented on the Sakic issue.
Joe Sakic is scheduled to speak at a news conference Thursday before his charity golf tournament at Sanctuary in Sedalia, but there is no guarantee that the Avalanche captain will announce whether he will play a 20th NHL season or retire.

This blogger, however, believes that Sakic's announcement on Thursday is the perfect way to take the spotlight off the Democrats and back to where it rightfully belongs -the Avalanche.
