Per Dater,
Just got off the phone with Jay Feaster, the former G.M. of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He has contacted Pierre Lacroix and told him of his great interest in the vacant Avs G.M. job. Feaster has a connection to the Avalanche - he was the G.M. of the Hershey Bears when the Bears were an Avs affiliate. Pierre basically hired him for that job, and played a role in helping him get the G.M. job in Tampa.
The one thing that has constantly driven me (as well as many other Avalanche fans) crazy is the amount of secrecy that goes on between the organization's heavyweights.
Sure, it was fun to be surprised with a big name every trade deadline without so much of a whisper beforehand, but it's getting to the point where Avalanche fans need something more than a "No Comment."
Hiring Feaster would be a huge step in the right direction.
Feaster's blog on The Hockey News is extremely candid, not to mention interesting.
Public relations aside, Feaster has the credentials. He won the 2004 Stanley Cup when he was GM of the Lightning, and in case you haven't noticed, Tampa Bay has been drowning since they let him go.
The Minnesota Wild GM vacancy is open as well. Lets snatch Feaster up while he's interested.
