You've already heard about David Jones' ACL. Out for the season. Huge loss to the Avs.
I picked Jones as a "breakout player" before the season started. He was well on his way to the 25 goals I predicted.
Get well soon, David.
So who the heck is going to take his spot?
The top four wingers now look something like: Hejduk, Wolski, Svatos/Stewart, Tucker/McLeod.
Not exactly imposing. An understatement, but there's some room for improvement.
Money is there, too. With around 6 million in cap space, Greg Sherman can afford to sign another winger AND still have room to wheel and deal if he so chooses.
Looking over the free agent list, I see that Miroslav Satan is still available. At 34, Satan would likely be affordable (he made 3.5 million last season, but would cost much less at this point in the season) and would provide decent depth on the right side.
The more likely scenario is the calling up of Brian Wilsie or *gasp* the re-entry through waivers of TJ Hensick. Nope. Wrong move.
This team needs some life. Bring in Satan.
